Daniel is the Managing Director of Consulting at Potrero Group and oversees all strategy projects. Daniel has been a cultural, environmental, and social sector leader for over twenty years, bringing a unique cross-section of creative and business strategy to his work. He has led strategic planning, operating model innovation, meeting facilitation, board search, board development, and executive search for over fifty clients at Potrero Group. His previous leadership positions included serving as Executive Director for Plays & Players Theatre and Administrative Director for International Performing Arts for Youth, for whom he authored five-year strategic plans. Daniel has also served as a theatre director of over thirty plays, a key part of what he delivers to clients.
Daniel’s Potrero Group clients have included Audubon Delta, California League of Park Associations, Guadalupe River Park Conservancy, History San José, Jefferson County Greenways Commission, Jefferson National Parks Association, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, National Park Service, NatureBridge, North Cascades Institute, North Carolina State Parks, Outdoor Afro, Piedmont Park Conservancy, Save Ellis Island, Sierra State Parks Foundation, Veggielution, Western National Parks Association, and Zion National Park Forever Project. Notably, Daniel led Potrero Group’s engagement through the Resources Legacy Fund to provide program management to develop California Natural Resource Agency’s 30x30 strategy.
Daniel coordinates Potrero Group’s thought leadership in strategy and innovation by designing and leading conference presentations, workshops, and webinars. Daniel co-authored the book Don’t Lead Alone: Think Like a System, Act Like a Network, and Lead Like a Movement, published by Fast Company Press in 2023. He won the global PwC/U21 Innovation Challenge for his presentation on the future of education to prepare students for jobs in a green economy.
Daniel received his MBA at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM), where he received the Newberry Distinguished Fellowship Award for Leadership and the Brad Atwood Scholarship for Social Responsibility.
