Vice President Dave Appino has more than 20 years of experience in executive recruitment, market research and product development. Since joining Furst Group in 1995, Dave has aligned with some of the top healthcare decision-makers in the industry. Dave’s 120-plus executive placements have positively impacted a variety of healthcare entities from small, not-for-profit companies to Fortune 500 organizations.
Dave is responsible for collaborating with Furst Group’s clients to create internal alignment for key positions as well as provide real-time market information to help organizations make decisions regarding leadership and talent. In addition, he leads Furst Group’s research team responsible for candidate identification and recruitment, market research, RFP design, tracking search performance metrics, and marketing presentations.
Through his product development efforts, Dave is actively involved with the design, development and delivery of Furst Group’s integrated talent management consulting services at the organizational, executive team and individual level. These services enable healthcare organizations to strengthen their leadership teams from within as well as through the acquisition of external talent.
Dave achieved Human Capital Strategist (HCS) certification through the Human Capital Institute in 2010. He also has received the Academy for Healthcare Management professional designation (PAHM) and published a variety of industry-related articles.
Prior to joining Furst Group, Dave was employed at a national retained executive search firm working across multiple industries with Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola, Johnson & Johnson, BASF, and Eastman Kodak. Dave graduated with honors from Augustana College (Ill.), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and psychology.
